(1) - What's New?

The Mail Check Utility on the centurytel.net home page has been re-written. The updated utility gives you the capability to access email from anywhere in the world via a web browser. You can view, delete, or reply to your new email messages while traveling or while using someone else's computer.

To use this utility, click the Mail Check Utility link on the centurytel.net home page. You will be prompted for your user ID, password, and location (state). After logging in, you will be presented with a Message Summary that lists all of your email messages currently on the mail server. This summary displays the sender, date, subject, and size of each message. It also indicates whether or not each message has any attachments.

Be aware that messages viewed with this utility remain on the mail server unless you delete them. These messages will download as usual the next time you check your email with your regular email client. An online help file is included with this utility. Please refer to this help file for an explanation of all features.

Are you a Macintosh user using Claris Emailer Light 1.1? If so, you may have noticed that your incoming email year is 1919! This is a Year 2000 (Y2K) related "bug" and was recently discovered by the Apple Computer Company. It should be noted that Claris Emailer Light 1.1 is no longer published or supported. Also, there are no free upgrades available (Claris Emailer 2.0 is not freeware). The centurytel.net Help Desk will not be able to support this software; however, we would like to suggest that you browse http://www.tucows.com for alternatives to Claris Emailer Light 1.1.
