Once you have gotten your webspace, you will be provided with an FTP account on one of our web servers. Here's what to do next:

Creating a Homepage on centurytel.net, Step by Step

1. Create a homepage
   Use a text editor or HTML editor on your computer to create a text document called index.html. See Developer Links for more information on HTML.

2. Upload "index.html" to your public_html directory
   Use an FTP client to upload your web page to your web directory at centurytel.net. Place it in the directory you were instructed to by our service center (when you called to order your webspace).

3. Visit your page!
   If all has gone well then you can now visit your web page, using Netscape or another browser. Your web page should be visible at the URL given to you when you ordered your webspace.

4. From here on out...
   Any additional pages you you wish to put up on the web should also be placed in the same subdirectory as your initial page.
